Rosso di Montalcino DOC

Description to Rosso di Montalcino DOC

DOC area for red wine in the Italian region of Tuscany. The vineyards cover almost 300 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Montalcino in the province of Siena. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, the label can indicate Vigna followed by the name of the vineyard. It is made from 100% pure Sangiovese clone Brunello grapes. The alcohol content must be at least 12% vol. It can be marketed from 1 September of the year following the harvest. Compared to the famous DOCG wine Brunello di Montalcino, it is ready for consumption much earlier and is therefore also called "young Brunello".
