Description to La Romanée AOC
The Grand Cru site is located in the Burgundy municipality of Vosne-Romanée(Côte d'Or) above the Grand Cru site Romanée-Conti. With just 0.83 hectares of vines on a very steep slope, this is the smallest appellation in France. The entire vineyard belongs to the Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, which is owned by the Liger-Belair family. The wine has been marketed by the trading company Bouchard Père et Fils since 1976. The red wine is mainly made from Pinot Noir with small proportions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault and can be stored for decades. Only around 3,000 bottles are produced each year.
