La Romanée AOC |
Description to La Romanée AOC
The Grand-Cru-Lage is located in the Burgundian community of Vosne-Romanée (Côte d'Or) above the Grand-Cru-Lage Romanée-Conti. With only 0.83 hectares of vineyards on very steep slopes, this is the smallest appellation in France. The entire vineyard belongs to the Domaine Château de Vosne-Romanée, which is owned by the Liger-Belair family. Since 1976, the vineyard has been marketed by the trading company Bouchard Père et Fils. The red wine is mainly made from Pinot Noir with small portions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault and can be stored for decades. Only about 3,000 bottles are produced annually. See also the history under Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.
