Description to DO Cangas
The VCIG area(quality wine) is located in the southwest of the Asturias region, which is in the northwest of Spain. It comprises only about 100 hectares of vineyards around the small, namesake municipality of Cangas de Narcea on quartz and slate soils. These are planted with the red wine varieties Albarín Tinto (Alfrocheiro), Carrasquín, Verdejo Negro (Trousseau Noir), Mencía, Moscatel de Grano Menudo Rojo (Muscat Rouge) and Garnacha Tinta, as well as the white wine varieties Albarín Blanco, Albillo, Picapoll Blanco, Moscatel de Grano Menudo Blanco (Muscat Blanc) and Godello.
