Description to Terre di Veleja IGT
IGT area (country wines) for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. It covers only two hectares of vineyards in the province of Piacenza. The main grape varieties are various white Malvasia and Trebbiano varieties, and the red varieties Barbera, Bonarda and Fortana. The rest can be other authorised varieties of the region. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% may be other varieties. For the wines, a minimum alcohol content is prescribed for each wine type, but no ageing periods.
