Description to Saint-Drézéry AOC
The appellation Languedoc Saint-Drézéry is located in the east of the French wine region Languedoc. It was classified as AOC in 1972 and belongs to the second quality category "Grands Vins du Languedoc". The wine was already known at the royal court of Versailles. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 70 to 160 metres above sea level on soils of sandstone, pebble and marl. They extend around the municipality in the department of Hérault that gave its name to the wine. The red wine is blended from at least 2 of the 3 main grape varieties Grenache Noir(Garnacha Tinta), Mourvèdre(Monastrell) and Syrah, as well as Carignan Noir(Mazuelo) and Cinsaut.
