The alcohol content must be at least 12% vol. The wine is straw-yellow to amber in colour and has an aroma of fruit, raisins, figs, honey and malt. Wines from the core area may use the BV designation Recioto di Soave Classico. There is also a spumante with at least 11.5% alcohol by volume.
