Description to Montagny AOC
Communal appellation in French Burgundy in the south-east of the large area of Côte Chalonnaise on the border with Mâconnais. It covers areas of the four communes of Buxy, Jully-lès-Buxy, Montagny-lès-Buxy and Saint-Vallerin. The vineyards cover some 480 hectares of vines, about half of which have the right to the Premier Cru designation. Only in the area of Montagny may individual vineyards also be indicated. It applies exclusively to white wines made from Chardonnay grapes.
