Description to Belarus

The presidential republic of Belarus (Беларусь, Biełaruś) in EasternEurope with the capital Minsk covers 207,595 km². The country was formerly known as White Ruthenia and Belorussia. The state borders Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, and Poland. The former USSR constituent state became sovereign after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Viticulture

In 2022, the vineyards covered 9,059 hectares of vine area, and the wine production volumes amounted to 307,000 hectoliters. The winery OJSC “Minsk Sparkling Wines Factory” is a leading producer of sparkling wine and wine. However, there is a significant industry for various spirit (vodka, brandy, rum, etc.) and beer.
