Description to Belarus

The former USSR republic of Belarus (Russian: Belorussia, formerly also White Ruthenia) and, since 1991, an independent landlocked Eastern European country with its capital Minsk, is located in Eastern Europe in the far west of the former USSR. It borders Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine and Poland. Due to the climate and historical conditions, almost no grapes are grown for wine. Wine is bought from other countries and bottled for retail, mainly for internal consumption and for export to the EAEU countries (the Eurasian Economic Union is an association of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Belarus). The wine production volume is only about 250,000 hectolitres. The OJSC "Minsk Sparkling Wines Factory" is a leading producer of various sparkling wines and wines. However, there is a significant industry for spirits(vodka, brandy, rum, etc.) and beers.

In this section you will find
currently 159,113 Wines and 24,648 Producers, including 2,782 classified producers.
