The name Agioritikos means "Holy Mountain" and should not be confused with the indigenous grape variety Agiorgitiko. Wines from Mount Athos
They are produced by the Tsantali company, which has exclusively leased vineyards from the monastery of St Panteleimon in the monastery 's own "Metochi Chromitsa" estate. Tsantali also produces other country wines from this mountain under other brand names, which are bottled in normal bottles. Agioritikos wines are also available from other producers, as there are other monasteries on Mount Athos. These include wines from the Monoxilitis monastery, which are bottled and marketed by the Protopapas company, and the Mylopotamos winery of the Megisti Lavra monastery.
