Pouilly-sur-Loire AOC |
Description to Pouilly-sur-Loire AOC
Appellation named after the town of the same name on the upper course of the Loire southeast of Orléans in the Département Nièvre in central France. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vines on the right bank of the Loire and lie as an enclave within the Pouilly-Fumé appellation. In contrast to its much more "famous brother", the white wine consists mainly of the Chasselas variety and is blended with Sauvignon Bl anc. Well-known producers are Domaine Champeau, Domaine Landrat-Guyollot and Michel Redde.
