Description to Marcillac AOC
The appellation is located in the northeast of the wine growing region southwest of France. The former VDQS area was classified in 1990. The vineyards cover 160 hectares of vineyard area. The red wine is blended from the autochthonous variety Fer Servadou (at least 90%), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A rosé is also produced in small quantities. Well-known producers are Domaine du Cros and Domaine Laurens.
