Pignoletto DOC
Pignoletto DOC |
Description to Pignoletto DOC
DOC area for various white wines in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna. It was created in 2014 for all white wines made from the Grechetto Gentile or Grechetto di Todi(Pignoletto) grape variety, and these wines were therefore separated from the three DOC areas concerned: Colli Bolognesi, Modena and Reno. The zone includes numerous municipalities in the two provinces of Bologna and Modena, and four municipalities in the province of Ravenna. There are the three subzones Colli d'Imola, Modena and Reno
The Bianco is blended from Grechetto Gentile (zum. 85%), white Pinot Nero = Pinot Noir (max. 15%) and other approved varieties (max. 15%). Other types are Passito, Vendemmia tardiva(Spätlese) and Spumante. Maturation time is not specified. The subzones apply only to Bianco and Spumante and must have a higher alcohol content. There is also a DOCG wine Colli Bolognesi Pignoletto.
