The wines of these establishments count every year to the absolute best of its kind and is almost unrivaled in the top - and that regardless of vintage variations. About
Weingut Schäfer-Fröhlich
The Schäfer-Fröhlich winery is located in the municipality of Bockenau in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. It has been run by Hans and Karin Fröhlich in the fifth family generation since the beginning of the 1970s. Since 1996, their son Tim has been responsible for the vinification. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Felseneck and Stromberg (Bockenau), Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg (Monzingen), as well as Felsenberg and Kupfergrube (Schlossböckelheim). They are planted with 85% Riesling and 15% Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. The low-yield grapes are selectively harvested by hand. The wines are fermented spontaneously in steel tanks and are matured according to the typical characteristics of the vineyard. The product range includes estate wines, local wines and wines from VDP.Grosse Lage according to the VDP classification. The winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) since 2001
