2018 Leithaberg DAC Ried Alter Berg Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Tart, rather cool, quite deep aroma of ripe black berries with restrained, tobacco wood barrel notes, a trace of juniper, hints of liquorice as well as leathery and smoky nuances. Dense and juicy in the mouth, pure, tart, still undeveloped black fruit with herbal aromas and dark ethereal spice, persistent, good depth, very fine, youthful tannin, salty minerality in the background, a hint of coffee, very good, tight, juicy and finely spicy finish.
