The winery is located in the municipality of Korb in the German growing region of Württemberg. It was established by Albrecht and Andrea Schwegler from the early 1990ies. After practical stays at wineries in Germany, Switzerland, California, and New Zealand, Aaron Schwegler and his wife Julia, the next generation, joined the winery in 2009. Since then, white wines have also been produced. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), Trollinger (Schiava Grossa), Syrah, Regent and Cabertin, as well as the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris. The vineyards are cultivated in a near-natural way, completely avoiding the use of artificial fertilizers and conventional pesticides. The nutrition of the vines is exclusively supported by organic material and species-rich seeding resp cover crop supported.
Through grape by grape selective hand harvesting only ripe and healthy grapes are processed. After traditional mash fermentation a careful pressing follows. Depending on the vintage, grape variety and single vineyard site, suitable barrels are selected from a variety of different wood types and toasting degrees. The red wines mature for two years in French barriques. There is no filtration. Only after the single-varietal maturation is the assemblage of the cuvées with the names Beryll, Saphir as well as the Granat, which is only produced in special years and exclusively aged in new barriques, carried out. The "d'r Oifache", which corresponds to its name and has a high Trollinger content, is bottled in litre bottles. The white wines also mature for 12 months in barriques. The Cuvée Rock 'n' Roll is blended from the varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
