The "Wimmer-Wagramkeller" winery is located in the municipality of Fels am Wagram in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wagram. The former mixed agricultural business has developed into a pure wine-growing operation over the decades. It is run by the third generation of the family, Robert Wimmer. The vineyards cover 13 hectares of vines, mainly in the Scheiben and Schillingsberg vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Roter Veltliner, Frühroter Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gelber Muskateller, as well as the red wine variety Zweigelt.
The environmentally friendly, near-natural cultivation of the vineyards is based on the principle of "quality is created in the vineyard" with a lot of manual labour according to sustainability criteria. Only physiologically ripe and healthy grapes are processed through selective hand-picking. After long maceration periods, the wines mature for a long time on the fine lees. The focus is on long-lasting wines. They are matured according to terroir and variety, ranging from fresh andfruity to complex and multi-layered. Depending on the type of wine, they mature in stainless steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barrique barrels. The company's premium wines are Roter Veltliner Ried Scheiben and Grüner Veltliner Ried Scheiben.
