2017 Ried Ungerberg Beerenauslese süß, Burgenland, Austria

Somewhat vegetal to herbal scent of dried citrus fruits and stone fruits with floral nuances, some honey, beeswax as well as nutty and black berry traces. Sweet, slightly creamy fruit with vegetal and nutty aromas, some honey and rock candy, fine acidity, some persistence, smoky traces in the background, again also hints of black berries, good persistence, a little yellow spice, bacony nuances, a hint of salt, very good, quite firm finish. In much more convincing shape than the first sample from 5 years ago.

Editor note: Fairly firm nose, noticeable herbaceous notes, ethereal traces, citrus fruit, hint of honey, notes reminiscent of pine needles. Straightforward sweet fruit on the palate, resiny traces, elegant, lively acidity, lemon verbena, good persistence, not particularly deep, touch of wilted flowers on a good finish.
