2005 Kamptal Grüner Veltliner trocken Vinum Optimum, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Quite a deep nose with mineral notes, black pepper, dried bananas and ripe pomaceous fruit, citrus notes and some wax. Lemony and waxy on the palate too, with pomaceous fruit, vegetal notes, filigree acidity, slightly astringent and rough tannins, which narrows the wine a little, cool mineral notes and some pepper in the background, some dry tannins on an otherwise attractive to good finish. Needs time to mature.
