2021 Ried Hexenberg Merlot-Shiraz trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, somewhat leathery, peppery and vegetal to ethereal-herbal nose, partly preserved dark berries, hint of tomato paste and paprika powder, hint of lavender. Warm, firm, partly preserved fruit with some sooty and chocolaty oak notes, some dried meat and a hint of okra, good substance and persistence, earthy minerality, also coffee grounds and some ash in the background, certain depth, very good, again somewhat warm finish with vegetal spice.
