The winery with its headquarters in the municipality of Deutschkreutz (district of Oberpullendorf) is located in the Austrian wine-growing region of Mittelburgenland( Burgenland ).The traditional family has been engaged in viticulture and agriculture since the 19th century. The farm is managed by Gerhard Pfneisl. The company motto is "BORN 2 MAKE WINE". The vineyards cover 23 hectares. The majority is planted at the headquarters in Deutschkreutz or its "old wine mountain", of which 90% are red wine varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt , Pinot Noir, Merlot , Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz ( Syrah ), and 10% white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner,Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier .
The land acquired from the municipality of Kleinmutschen was reactivated in 1999 by the Pnfeisl brothers named "Shiraz Brothes". In 2006, the "Cult Winery" on the vineyard Hexenberg with award-winning architecture was put into operation here. The Bewirtschaftung erfolgt nach Regeln der kontrollierten, integrierten Produktion ( sustainablemanagement follows the rules of controlled, integrated production ( KIP ).Since the 2015 vintage, the farm has been certified with the Sustainable Austria seal ofthe winegrowers' association. Depending on the type of wine, the wines arematured in stainless steel tanks , large wooden barrels or in barriques.The flagship is the red wine cuvée "Pentagon", named after the five varieties Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Shiraz. It is matured in 100% new French barriques and can be stored for decades. The red wine cuvée "Hexenberg" (Merlot, Shiraz) also belongs to the premium wines. In addition to other red and white wines, a histamine-freeHistamin Zweigelt, a rosé sparkling wine, as well as the new generation wines are produced under the brand "OFFSPRING by Pfneisl".
