2020 Mittelburgenland DAC Ried Altes Weingebirge Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Roasted, somewhat nutty, leathery and dried vegetal nose, predominantly dark berries with a hint of Amarena cherries and medicinal herbs, hint of plums and some pencil. Tart black fruit with clear bitter chocolate and roasted wood notes, also a little Brazil nut and marzipan, ripe, crumbly-sandy tannins, good persistence, salty and peppery tones, certain alcohol warmth, not eternally deep, a little mocha in the very good, grippy finish.
