2023 Vulkanland Steiermark DAC Straden Sauvignon Blanc Ortswein trocken STK, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Cool, still smoky-reductive, somewhat herbal to herbal nose with citrus and pome fruit notes, a hint of herbaceous mushrooms and fine root vegetables, as well as hinted dark and green berries. Clear, juicy, firm fruit with nuances reminiscent of gooseberries and fresh butter, lively acidity, noticeable tannin grip, good sustainability, barrel wood in the background, chalky minerality, very good finish with bite.
