2005 Carnuntum trocken Eisenbach, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Partly dried sour cherries and black berries on the nose, sweetish whiff of bread, cool, slightly malted notes and prominent roasted aromas. Cool and quite dark again on the palate, fruity with elegant acidity, sooty, roasted oak, vegetal notes in the background, also has prominent salty mineral notes, medium depth and very good persistence, still slightly closed, slightly rustic spicy oak on an otherwise very good finish.
