2018 Südsteiermark DAC Ried Welles Sauvignon Blanc Grosse STK Ried trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Slightly developed, somewhat nutty and delicately woody, a hint of fennel-like vegetal and smoky scent with restrained yellow-fruity tones, floral aromas and a little yellow spice. Ripe, firm, tart and juicy, at first almost cool, then warmer fruit with air, nutty tones and a hint of liquorice, persistent on the palate, fennel again and a little aniseed, moderate wood spice, has power, good depth, clear minerality, still little developed, black berry flavours in the background, a hint of laurel, very good to long, firm finish.
