The winery is located in the free city of Rust in Burgenland (Austria). The coat of arms of this traditional family dates back to 1749 and the business is run by Harald and Christine Kraft. The vineyards cover 8.5 hectares of vines in the areas of Bandkräftn (Baumgarten), Gmärk (Gmerk), Greiner, Großer Wald, Mariental, Öden, Unterer und Oberer Satz, Umriss and Vogelsang. They are planted with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch, Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec, and with the white wine varieties Welschriesling, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muskateller, Grauburgunder and Furmint. Due to the centuries-long cultivation of the soils, partial organic cultivation has been used since the mid-1990s.
The wines are fermented in a cool, temperature-controlled manner to preserve their varietal character. The dry white wines are aged in steel tanks, the Prädikat wines and red wines at least 12 months in oak barrels. Among the premium wines are Ruster Ausbruch made from various grape varieties, as well as the red wine cuvées "Red Magic" (Merlot, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon) and "S.O.T.Y." (Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot); the latter wine is also available in white (Chardonnay, Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc) Sparkling wines and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. Up to 40,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
