The winery is located in the municipality of Bad Kreuznach in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. The Korrell family, originally from Spain, has been growing grapes here for around 250 years. The name "Johanneshof" is derived from the fact that a Johannes Korrell was the first in the family to start growing grapes. The originally mixed agricultural business was converted to viticulture when Wilfried Korrell took over in 1967. Today, the farm is run by Martin and Britta Korrell, the sixth generation of the family. A newly built wine press house was put into operation in 2011

The vineyards cover 26 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Paradies, Rosenberg and St. Martin (Kreuznach), Kirschheck (Norheim), Klamm (Niederhausen), and In den Felsen and Königsfels (Schloßböckelheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Silvaner, Muscat and Scheurebe, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Portugieser and Dornfelder. Year-round foliage management is of great importance. The grapes, which are reduced by thinning out, are processed after selective manual harvesting

The wines are marketed in the lines, estate wines, local wines and site wines. The white wines are aged for a long time on the fine lees. The red wines undergo malolactic fermentation in steel tanks and are then aged in large wooden barrels or in barriques. The premium wines include the Riesling "Die ältesten Reben" Kreuznacher Paradies, Riesling Niederhäuser Klamm and the red wine cuvé "Ars Vini". In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine is also pressed. Fine spirits (wine, yeast, grape, pomace, fruit), liqueurs and bottle-fermented vintner's sparkling wines are also produced
