2015 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, rather tart aroma of ripe black berries with dried herbal and tobacco nuances, dried mushrooms, flowers and earthy tones as well as a hint of tar. Firmly woven, concentrated, juicy dark fruit, smoky-roasty aromas, a little coffee, cocoa and juniper, crumbly, still youthful tannin, persistent, good depth, a lot of power but also some polish, bacony nuances, clearly salt in the background, very good, firm finish with dark juice, bitter-chocolatey wood spice as well as some bacon and salt.
