The winery is located in the municipality of
Neckenmarkt in the Austrian DAC area of
Mittelburgenland. Attached is the Buschenschank "Georgischenke". The winery is managed by Georg Wieder. The vineyards cover 30 hectares in the Bodigraben,
Hochberg and Spiegelberg vineyards. They are 95% planted with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch (60%), Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, and 5% with the white wine varieties Welschriesling and Chardonnay. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practised. The quality criteria in the vineyard are the care of old vines,
short pruning, extreme yield restriction by means of
thinning, meticulous leaf wall design and healthy, fully ripe grape material through an optimal harvest date
The aim of the house is to produce expressive wines with the best ageing potential. The white wines are classically matured in steel tanks. Depending on the type of wine, the red wines mature in large oak barrels or in barriques for up to two years. The premium wines include, for example, the cuvée "Morandus" (Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt, Merlot), as well as various
Mittelburgenland DAC (Blaufränkisch) with vineyard designations. The winery is a member of the
Blaufränkischland Mittelburgenland and Vitikult winegrowers' associations
