The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The traditional winery is located in the community of Forst (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Pfalz. It has been family-owned since 1620 and is therefore one of the oldest wineries in Germany. Today it is managed in the 11th generation by Markus Spindler. Attached is a year-round open wine bar, where local dishes and own wines are offered. The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Elster, Freundstück, Jesuit garden, Kirchenstück, Musenhang, Pechstein, Stift und Ungeheuer (forest), Herrgottsacker (Deidesheim), as well as Nussbien and Reiterpfad (Ruppertsberg). They are planted with 85% Riesling, as well as the varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Since the 2015 vintage, production has been carried out according to certified rules of organic viticulture. This includes natural greening, organic fertilization with compost from our own production, straw and rock flour, as well as the use of the confusing method against the and renunciation of herbicides and insecticides

80% of the grapes are harvested by hand, in the case of wines from single vineyards, in two or three rounds. The grapes are gently processed by the pneumatic press. During vinification, only low mechanical stress is required due to three levels and no pumping is necessary until the first racking. Partly the fermentation is spontaneous. Depending on the type of wine, this takes place in double-piece wooden barrels or in stainless steel with, if necessary, long storage on the . Strictly separated, single-varietal vinification preserves a high degree of typicity with regard to varieties and locations, resulting in finely fruity and pure-toned wines. According to the VDP classification model, the product range is divided into estate wine, local wine, Erste Lage and Grosse Lage. Sweet wines are designated with the predicate. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine and marc spirit are also produced. The winery is a member of the Wine Changes Association.
