2007 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch trocken Biiri Reserve, Burgenland, Austria

Light toasted, spicy oak on the nose, ripe black and red berries, hint of tobacco and dried herbs, earthy and mineral traces. Ripe, juicy fruit on the palate, light acid bite,, nutty, toasted, spicy oak, persistent, fine sandy and slightly astringent tannins, touch of chocolate and coffee, salty mineral notes in the background, some depth, more spicy oak on a very good juicy finish. Still youthful.

Editor note: Blueberries and cherries on the nose, mineral traces, light roasted and oaky notes. More prominent spicy oak on the palate, smoky notes, sooty and roasted notes, also has quite concentrated preserved and partly jammy cherry and berry fruit, hint of plums, sweetish tart spice, light acid bite, medium-fine, slightly astringent oak tannins, medium depth, slightly jammy and oaky with some chocolate on an otherwise very good finish.
