2020 Südsteiermark DAC Ried Sulz Sauvignon Blanc Erste STK Ried trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Firm and quite deep, slightly yellow-spicy, somewhat nutty, vegetable and subtly mushroom-like nose with ripe yellow fruits and a hint of Provençal herbs, tobacco, and dried flowers. Bitter, firm-structured fruit with some creaminess and a touch of nut butter, lively acidity, has a grip of crumbly tannin, persistent on the palate, certain phenolics, restrained, smoky wood notes in the background, salty and almost stony minerality, has power, plant-based spice, and some dark berries in the very good finish, has length and emphasis.
