2008 Süd-Steiermark Welschriesling Beerenauslese süß, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Compact earthy nose, spicy oak, dried pomaceous fruit and some candied apple, undergrowth, cedar and herbaceous notes. Still fairly youthful on the palate, moderate oak with a hint of cedar, light spice, dried apple, toffee apple and some candied yellow fruit, light earthy and delicate nutty notes, hint of carob, moderately sweet, integrated acidity, has quite a bit of substance, needs time, very elegant style, shows the winemaker's signature, good long finish.
