2012 Süd-Steiermark Ried Hochsulz Chardonnay Reserve trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Tart nose, still slightly closed, light smoky oak, fairly polished vegetal notes, restrained, slightly cool yellow fruit, touch of root vegetables, herbaceous aromas, mineral notes, hint of white flowers. Firm, again fairly cool ripe fruit on the palate, prominent nutty oak, slightly smoky, vegetal aromas, earthy and mineral notes, very elegant acidity, very slightly sandy tannins provide firm grip, persistent, noticeable but well.integrated alcohol, hint of bacon, good backbone, has some depth, hint of caramel on a very good, firm, slightly alcoholic finish.
