2020 Mittelburgenland DAC Ried Altes Weingebirge Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, slightly smoky, somewhat peppery and vegetal to herbal aroma of partly preserved black berries with a hint of coffee and dried meat. Polished, firm, rather warm fruit with cool vegetal flavours, some nutty and bitter chocolate wood in the background, present, fine sandy tannins, good substance and persistence, hints of morels, paprika and mint, has power, a certain depth, earthy and tobacco notes on a very good finish.
