2015 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Distinctly woody and somewhat tobacco aroma of ripe mainly dark berries and some plums with toasty notes and cocoa. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved dark fruit, quite present, crumbly tannin, some bite, but also power and warmth, persistent on the palate, dry herbal notes and pepper, also some juniper, some depth, mineral hints, integrated, again slightly toasty wood, also smoky notes, very good finish with partly preserved fruit, partly ethereal spice, salt and noticeable alcohol.
