2003 Mittelburgenland Blaufränkisch trocken selection, Burgenland, Austria

Sweet spicy oak on the nose, coconut and vanilla, followed by sour cherries and preserved berries. Quite juicy fruit in the mouth, lots of sweetish oak, quite fine, fairly moderate tannins, very creamy on the palate, a crowd-pleaser, not a lot of depth, some red fruit and vanilla on an attractive finish.
