The winery is located in the municipality of Inzersdorf ob der Traisen in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of
Traisental. Ludwig Neumayer completed a period of study at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Klosterneuburg after attending the viticulture school in Wien. After entering the field, he soon became a pioneer for quality wines in this relatively young area. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards mainly in small terraced sites in the Engelreich, Gießgraben, Hendlgraben, Rafasetzen, Rothenbart, Seigarten, Spielberg and Zwirch vineyards, which are distributed like a mosaic across many plots. They are exclusively planted with white varieties, these are Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Weißburgunder and Sauvignon Blanc. Due to the poor soil conditions on lean stone soils, the wines develop more slowly and are enormously long-lived. The winery became known above all for its "Wein vom Stein" (wine from the stone), under which brand various single-varietal varieties are produced, as well as the "Cuvée Wein vom Stein" (mixed set from an almost 60-year-old vineyard). Another premium wine is "Grüner Veltliner Zwirch". The best wines of a vintage are produced under the "Ikon" brand, which can be, for example, sweet wines (straw wine, ice wine) or specialities aged in barriques. However, these
wines are only available in small quantities, if at all. The winery has been a member of the Winzervereinigung
Traditionsweingüter Österreich since 2001
