2021 Südsteiermark DAC Ried Stermetzberg Sauvignon Blanc trocken "Don't Cry", Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Relatively cool, firm, somewhat smoky, nutty and vegetal to herbaceous nose, very ripe gooseberries and light yellow fruit, hint of chanterelles, nettle and juniper. Clear, fairly juicy, firm, rather warm fruit with cool vegetal flavours, slightly smoky and nutty wood notes as well as some pepper, lively acidity, noticeable grip, dense and persistent, salty minerality, also mussel shells and hints of flint, good depth, despite the high alcohol also has cool elements, a hint of rosemary and citrus zest in the very good to long, animating finish.

Best to drink: Mitte 2025 bis 2032+. What our ratings mean
