Relatively tart, a little dried-herbal, tobacco and nutty aroma of ripe predominantly black berries with a touch of mustard seed, roasted almonds and pepper. Ripe, partly preserved, ripe, juicy fruit with candied-nutty spice, some allspice, Mediterranean herbs, pepper and chocolate, also a little coffee liqueur and juniper, crumbly-sandy tannin, persistent on the palate, plenty of power, warming alcohol, still some buttery-milky tones in the background, a touch of ash, very good finish. Loses some contour with air.
