2009 Leithaberg DAC Blaufränkisch trocken Alte Reben, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, fairly mature nose, black berries, tarry traces, some undergrowth, pepper notes, light oak, dried herbs and light mineral notes. Ripe, juicy, slightly warm dark fruit on the palate, fairly prominent, ripe, fine sandy tannins, light acid bite, persistent, moderalte, slightly smoky, spicy oak, light salty notes in the background, toasted traces, smoky traces on a very good, juicy finish with a hint of dried flowers.

Editor note: Tart nose, vegetal and herbaceous notes, cherries and black berries, earthy and mineral notes. Clear, elegant, juicy, tart fruit on the palate, vegetal notes and old oak, elegant acid bite, youthful, fine tannins, persistent and has some depth, still undeveloped, earthy and mineral notes in the background, very good juicy finish. Needs time to mature.
