Description to Scotland
Scotland Scotland with the capital Edinburgh covers 77,910 km² and is a part of the United Kingdom Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is located in the north of the British mainland and borders England to the south. Scotland includes several groups of islands. To the west lie the Hebrides (3,071 km²), as well as the Orkney Islands (990 km²) off the north coast and significantly further away the Shetland Islands (1,466 km²). Scotland is particularly known for its whisky culture. The temperate cold climate with unstable weather is not suitable for viticulture. In the Atlantic regions, it is warmed by the Gulf Stream. The Temperature are lower than in the rest of Great Britain. Possibly, viticulture is favored by climate change. There are initial attempts on two hectares.
