The winery is located in the municipality of Horitschon-Unterpetersdorf in the Austrian DAC area of
Mittelburgenland. Since 1990 it has been managed by Ludwig and Marianne Bauer (née Pöltl). After his education at the HBLA in
Klosterneuburg and internships abroad in Tuscany, California and South Africa, son Daniel is responsible for the cellar. In 2001 a completely new cellar management building was put into operation. The vineyards comprise 14 hectares of vines, for example in the vineyards Altes Weingebirge and
Hochäcker. They are planted to 90% with the red wine varieties
Blaufränkisch (with 50% the clear leading variety), Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and St. Laurent, and to 10% with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Neuburger. We consistently practice environmentally friendly winegrowing close to nature. With the aim of organic products, as little intervention as possible is made in the cellar. From the white wine varieties, the "Piri", a
mixed set, is pressed annually. Among the premium wines are various
Mittelburgenland DAC (Blaufränkisch), as well as the cuvées "Christania"
(Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt) and "Domus Petri"
(Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent, Merlot), which are aged in barriques. The winery is a member of the Winegrowers' Association
Blaufränkischland Mittelburgenland.
