Tart, still rather undeveloped, delicately smoky aroma of ripe predominantly dark berries, a little sour cherry, wild mushrooms and a hint of game with floral nuances, tobacco, tobacco ash, herbs and juniper. Firmly woven, ripe, yet tart fruit, smoky, somewhat ashy and tobacco notes, a little pepper and clearly salt, also chalky notes in the background, good substance and persistence, restrained power, bitter-chocolate tones, very good, firm, still very slightly drying finish.
Synonym (also Blaue Zweigeltrebe) for the grape variety Zweigelt; see there.
