2018 Vulkanland Steiermark Pinot Noir Reserve trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Slightly smoky and a hint toasty, also a little ethereal aroma of ripe red and black berries, forest floor, mushrooms, a little beetroot and juniper. Tart, slightly muted dark fruit, earthy and dried vegetable aromas, again also forest floor, mushroomy aromas and a trace of juniper, a little toasty on the palate, buttery traces, certain persistence, relatively rustic character, chalky-salty hints, good to very good, slightly bitterish finish.
