2016 Vulkanland Steiermark Ried Hochwarth Sauvignon Blanc trocken STK, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Fairly deep nose, hint of smoked bacon, light nutty and herbaceous notes, citrus fruit, hint of black berries, pulses, celery, carrots, prominent mineral and very light ethereal notes. Firm, very slightly sweetish and creamy ripe fruit on the palate, touch of spicy oak, lively, elegant acidity, peppery traces, sugar candy and some sage, good grip, substance and persistence, salty and earthy notes, ripe tannins provide noticeable grip, good depth, full body, chalky mineral notes, becomes increasingly more complex and expressive with aeration, very good, long finish.
