2007 Vulkanland Steiermark Merlot Von den Schlossterrassen, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Nose still slightly closed, berries, light earthy notes and some undergrowth, delicate smoky and sooty notes. Fairly soft on the palate, fairly closed, compact berry fruit, delicately bitter herbaceous notes, undergrowth, touch of truffles, 90% dark chocolate, integrated but still slightly prominent tannins, has some substance, but a fairly cool style, shows its origin, slightly alcoholic on a good to very good finish.
