Somewhat herbaceous, citrus and stone fruit on the nose, herbaceous, vegetal and nutty notes, hint of tobacco and vanilla. Ripe, warm, sweetish-juicy fruit, vegetal to herbaceous, hint of nutty, smoky and tobacco notes, some minerality, matching acidity, some grip, citrus peel on the palate, noticeable but integrated alcohol, some minerality in the background, very slightly muted on a good to very good finish.
Common name in German-speaking countries for the Riesling, to clearly distinguish it from the (unrelated) Welschriesling. See also under Rhein.
