The winery is located in the community of Kleinhadersdorf west of the community of Poysdorf in the Lower Austrian wine growing region Weinviertel. The wine tradition of the Rieder family goes back many decades and is expressed in the farm name "WEINRIEDER". The farm is managed by Friedrich Rieder. The philosophy of the house sets the direction: "Ingenuity is often only a millimetre away from disaster". The vineyards comprise 20 hectares of vines in the best south- and south-western locations on loess and loam soils in the Birthal, Bockgärten, Hohenleiten, Kugler and Schneiderberg vineyards. They are planted exclusively with white wine varieties, namely Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay andPinot Blanc.
The classic in the estate is the Grüner Veltliner. Starting with the Weinviertel DAC, as a typical peppery Grüner Veltliner of the region or as a site Veltliner from the Schneiderberg vineyard, to old vines and reserves from 60-year-old vines. The vineyards are cultivated in a manner close to nature, with, for example, protection of beneficial organisms, greening, as well as rigorous yield limitation through short pruning and consistent thinning out. The fermentation of the natural wines takes place in principle in cooled stainless steel tanks with long storage on the . Dry white wines with ageing potential are produced to 95% and sweet wines to 5%. The wines are exported to a total of 30 countries, including China, Russia, and the USA, where they can be found in the best restaurants. The winery is a member of the association Premium-Weingüter Weinviertel.
